Group inaugurates ‘Asiwaju le’kan si 2027’ movement to drive Tinubu’s second term

The Director-General of the APC Progressive Support Group (APSG–Itesiwaju), Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Ogunba-Koleowo, has flagged off the “Asiwaju Le’kan Si 2027” movement, stating that the initiative marks a decisive step towards consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

 Speaking at the National Inaugural Ceremony held in Lagos, Ogunba-Koleowo described the event as more than a political gathering, calling it “a significant turning point” in the journey to sustain and deepen the reforms of the current administration.

 The event drew party leaders, elected and appointed public office holders, royal fathers, national and state executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), women and youth leaders, strategic partners, members of the press, and supporters from across the country.

 Addressing the audience, the APSG Director-General stated that the launch of APSG-Itesiwaju and the ‘Asiwaju Le’kan Si 2027’ campaign signals the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation effort aimed at strengthening grassroots structures and building momentum toward 2027.

 “Our theme, ‘2027 and Beyond – Preparation, Participation, Opportunities,’ is both a battle cry and a promise,” she said. “It reminds us that under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Renewed Hope Agenda has moved beyond slogans to measurable impact.”

 Ogunba-Koleowo noted key policy initiatives of the administration, citing economic reforms, infrastructure development, youth empowerment programmes, and women-focused interventions as evidence that the government is delivering on its mandate.

 She pointed to bold economic reforms designed to stabilise the currency and attract foreign investment, as well as major infrastructure projects including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, rail modernisation, port upgrades, and road construction across the federation.

 “These are not mere statistics,” she said. “They are stories of real Nigerians whose lives have been touched and transformed.”

 On education and youth development, she referenced the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which she said has disbursed over ₦183 billion to nearly one million beneficiaries, providing interest-free loans to students from low-income families.

 She also cited the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, which she said has trained more than 135,000 young Nigerians in digital skills such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development, and data analytics.

 In addition, she highlighted the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) initiative, a $618 million fund supporting youth-led startups, as well as vocational training efforts under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

 “These figures represent lives ignited and futures secured. When we invest in our youth, Nigeria wins,” she stated.

 The APSG Director-General further emphasised the administration’s focus on women empowerment, referencing the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), which she said is designed to directly empower five million women and reach 25 million Nigerians nationwide.

 She also commended the Renewed Hope Initiative led by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for supporting women farmers, promoting healthcare and education, and advancing economic independence for women across the country.

 Ogunba-Koleowo said APSG would build on these efforts through structured mobilisation anchored on five pillars – grassroots mobilisation, political education, youth empowerment, women inclusion, and leadership development.

 She announced plans to establish ward-level committees in all 8,809 wards nationwide, deploy digital mobilisation strategies, and launch “Renewed Hope Caravans” to engage communities through town halls, rallies, and enlightenment campaigns.

 According to her, the group aims to register at least 10 million supporters by 2027 through coordinated membership drives and data-driven engagement.

 “This is not a top-down political approach. It is a people-powered movement. From the remotest village to the busiest city, we will mobilise Nigerians to defend and deepen the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.

 Calling on youths to take advantage of existing government programmes, Ogunba-Koleowo described them as “the innovators and drivers of today,” urging them to leverage opportunities in education, technology, and entrepreneurship.

 She equally urged women to take up leadership roles in politics, business, and community development, pledging that APSG would create platforms for mentorship, training, and broader participation.

 “Asiwaju Le’kan Si 2027 is a clarion call,” she declared. “It is about unity, preparation, and participation. It is about ensuring that the work already started is brought to a successful conclusion.”

 She charged members of the support group to return to their communities to register new members, educate voters, and promote what she described as the achievements of the administration.
