APC Women Leader congratulates Tinubu, female Assembly candidates

The Lagos State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaja Rofiat Iyabosola Eletu, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and four female candidates who emerged winners in the party’s primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Eletu, in a statement, described the emergence of the candidates as a reflection of the confidence party members have in their leadership capacities.

She congratulated President Tinubu on securing the APC presidential ticket, saying his emergence showed the support of party faithful for his administration and leadership.

The APC women leader also hailed the emergence of four female candidates for the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The candidates are Princess Omolara Oyekan-Olumegbon (Lagos Island Constituency I), Mojisola Lasbat Miranda (Apapa Constituency I), Barrister Damilola Ayinde Marshal (Surulere Constituency II) and Barrister Barakat Odunuga-Bakare (Surulere Constituency I).

According to Eletu, the victories of the female candidates represent progress for women participation in politics and governance in the state.

She described Oyekan-Olumegbon’s emergence as a reward for dedication to grassroots development and service, while commending Miranda for her contributions to legislative activities as Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Eletu added that the legal backgrounds of Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, would strengthen quality representation in the Assembly if elected.

She urged party members and residents in the affected constituencies to support the candidates during the general elections.

The APC women leader reaffirmed the commitment of the party’s women wing to mobilising support for Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the polls.
