Tinubu Commends Wike Over Greater Abuja Water Supply Project



President Bola Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike over the completion of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network.

The President who gave this commendation while commissioning the project loop 1,2,5 and 6 in Abuja on Monday says exhibition of commitment and dedication by the Minister has been the factor contributing to numerous achievements being recorded in FCT.

He described Wike as one with great virtue of leadership and a leader that is conscious of the need of residents of the territory.

” I thank you very much and your team. I sincerely commend all of you. This water infrastructure is not only a technical milestone but a moral one because it is about equity, it is about ensuring that no part of Abuja is left behind in our national development agenda.

” Thank you, the team of Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for exhibiting a very great virtue of leadership. This virtue is when a leader is very conscious of the need of his people and he goes about, committed with dedication to do it. That’s what you have been exhibiting in the FCT.

The President enjoined the residents to see the water project as a treasure that must not be taking for granted, saying water is meant to be drink, to clean, to grow and to build.

” We are not here today merely to lay the pipes. We are laying the groundwork for healthier families, stronger communities and a more productive city. As your President, I remain committed to accelerating the growth, prosperity, delivery of reliable infrastructure, development of human capacity.

Earlier, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike expressed gratitude to the President for regular support being giving to the FCT Administration under his leadership.

He disclosed that contract for the water projects was awarded in 2017 at the cost of 470 million U. S. dollars under partnership of African Development Initiative, saying that Chinese government provided 85 percent, while the federal government and FCT provided 15 percent, which expected to take care of loops 1,2 5 and 6.

” I recall that, when you came on board, you invited me and asked me one or two questions. One is, why is it that the mass travelling train is not walking? And then you went to the Nigerian Bar Association Conference, and you said you want to ride on that train. Secondly, you said, what is happening to the Abuja Greater Water Supply? And you said, look, it’s not only road infrastructure, you want the train to work, and you want the water to be supplied to the city.

” We want to sincerely thank you that, under this administration, the job has been completed, and today you are commissioning the water project

Tinubu grants automatic employment to children of late FCT Head of ServiceGrace Adayilo

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
