Tinubu: I miss Dantata, he prayed for me before election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and renowned businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as a man who was generous and committed to the great value of Nigeria.

During the visit in Kano, Tinubu said his presence was not just official, but a deeply personal gesture of respect and sorrow for the loss of a man who meant so much to his family and the nation at large.

“Our sisters and brothers, this is a personal commitment for me, that I should be here to condole with you as the Dantata family members and the entire state of Kano. All our honourable members, I want to thank you for showing up gracefully and honourably. I know what you did for him,” he said.

Paying tribute to the late patriarch, President Tinubu said Dantata’s life was marked by generosity, spiritual depth, and a rare devotion to humanitarian causes.

“But here is a man of immense personality, honesty, integrity, and philanthropy, commitment of humanity in every aspect of the world.

“If they do friendship and they do contact over and beyond in the other world, a larger Dantata will be a marketplace distributing food to the hungry and giving the sick the happiness and the needs that they want. He’s so generous, so good, so committed to the great value of our country. He’s a great man.”

The President noted that he shared a close personal bond with the late Dantata and had sought his blessings before contesting in the 2023 general elections.

“I miss him, very, very close to my family, and I came here and sought his prayer before the election. He gave me that prayer,” Tinubu added.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away recently at the age of 94, was one of Nigeria’s most influential businessmen and philanthropists, widely revered for his quiet support to institutions.

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
