Tinubu lead special FEC session in Buhari’s honour Thursday
The Federal Executive Council will on Thursday hold a special session to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement via his official X handle on Wednesday.
The presidential spokesman stated that the session will be presided over by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“As part of the Special Mourning Activities approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, an expanded Special Session of the Federal Executive Council in honour of the late former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja,” he wrote.
African Journalist Online reports that the expanded FEC meeting will be attended by the leadership of the National Assembly – the Senate and the House of Representatives, the Judiciary, and representatives of the family of the late former President.
The Special FEC meeting will be held after the third day prayer for the late former President at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, with Vice President Kashim Shetima leading a delegation of the Federal Government, comprising Ministers, for the prayers.
Furthermore, a Special prayer session will be held in honour of the late former President at the National Mosque, Abuja, on Friday, while a Special Church Service will be conducted on Sunday
