VP Shettima Reaffirms Tinubu’s Commitment to Military Welfare at Nigerian Army Day Celebration in Kaduna"

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Grand Finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration in Kaduna, where he delivered a powerful address reaffirming the administration’s dedication to strengthening the nation's military might.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Shettima declared that the Tinubu-led administration remains resolute in its commitment to the welfare, morale, and operational capacity of the Nigerian Armed Forces, stressing that continuous investments are being made in modern weaponry, intelligence systems, and human capital development.

“This administration will not relent in arming our forces with the tools they need to succeed—on the battlefield and beyond,” Shettima stated.

The Vice President emphasized that national strength is directly tied to the bravery of those who defend it, praising the Nigerian Army for its historic role as the backbone of Nigeria’s sovereignty for the past 162 years.

“The Nigerian Army has not only safeguarded our territorial integrity but has also shaped the course of our nation’s history,” he added.

Shettima paid tribute to fallen heroes and serving personnel, noting that the nation owes them more than gratitude — it owes them constant support, equipment, and empowerment to perform their duties effectively and with honor.

The event, which marked a moment of reflection and celebration for the Nigerian Army, also served as a reminder of the critical role the military plays in safeguarding peace, unity, and democratic stability across the country.

The Nigerian Army Day Celebration is held annually to commemorate the establishment of the Nigerian Army and to honor the gallantry and sacrifice of its officers and men.
