Feels good to be back home,’ Tinubu speaks after Japan, Brazil trips

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed delight at returning to Nigeria after official visits to Japan and Brazil, saying his engagements abroad were focused on securing opportunities that would translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians.

Tinubu, in a statement shared on his official X handle, recalled that the mandate Nigerians gave him in 2023 was to restore the country’s pride and dignity on the global stage—a responsibility he said he remains fully committed to.

“In Japan, we deepened ties that will bring new investments in industry, technology, and human capital. In Brazil, we advanced partnerships in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance, while also engaging with our own business leaders to strengthen confidence in our economy,” he stated.

The president noted that his administration is laying the foundation for a “new Nigeria” anchored on sustainable reforms, not rhetoric.

He stressed that the nation must be confident abroad, resilient at home, and determined to create value for citizens within and outside the country.

While acknowledging that the journey of reforms is not without challenges, Tinubu expressed optimism that “with unity of purpose and courage to reform, the best is on the horizon.”

He concluded his message with a prayer: “God bless our dear country, Nigeria.”
