Traditional leaders urge Nigerians to support Tinubu’s administration

Traditional leaders, Aare Onikoyi of Yorubaland, Aare Tomori Tanimowo Williams, and Oba Bashiru Odesanya, the Oloto of Oto and Lagos Mainland, have urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Newspaper subscription bundles

The duo gave the charge during a recent courtesy visit to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, which signified a display of unity between political leadership and traditional authority, Aare Williams expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with the President on critical issues facing the country. He also commended President Tinubu’s vision, leadership style, and long-standing contributions to the country’s development.

Aare Williams described the meeting as not just “a bridge between governance and heritage, but a convergence of governance, tradition, and industry expertise,” adding that development must reflect the cultural identity of the people while meeting contemporary needs.

On his part, Oba Odesanya, a custodian of culture and tradition, noted that the meeting reinforces his belief that sustainable development is a collective responsibility.

“With the government and traditional institutions working closely, the needs of our people would be easily met.
“When government, traditional leaders, and the private sector work together, the results can be transformative,” Odesanya noted.

The meeting comes at a time when the country continues to grapple with the reality of a housing deficit, with many encouraging public-private partnerships in the real estate sector.

Aare Williams has led several landmark real estate and infrastructure projects across the nation, including the infamous Olaleye New Town project in Lagos State.

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
