2027: London Trained Journalist Mr Ardo joins race for Adamawa North Senate seat

Mr Ardo (Editor -in -Chief African Journalist Media Platforms ) poses for a portrait outside Earl Court Youth Club in  the Borough of Chelsea and  Kensington of Greater London with his best friend the Camera.

There’s a new All Progressive Congress( APC) candidate in the race to succeed Rev.Amos  Yohana  of People Democratic Party ( PDP)in the Nigeria Senate in 2027.

Ardo Zubairu,  from Northern Adamawa in the North Eastern  Part of Nigeria and a key Tinubu  Loyalist in the North East . who has worked as Board Member representing North East at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) ,announced he is running for the seat.
at his  Wuro- Iya residence in Maiha  local government area with several leaders of the APC  From the five local government areas (LGAs) comprise the Adamawa North Senatorial District. Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, and Mubi South
in attendance.

Ardo  said he chose to celebrate inde  Mauludu  in wuro -Iya   and noted that the idea of empowerment should be redefined from the tokenism given to constituents, to ensuring that the infrastructure needed are built for the people to express themselves as according to him, “our people are not lazy. Our leaders from the five local government areas have gathered here today to say I should contest and I believe that with your support, we will get there.".

He said “It is true that for quite sometimes, many of our people have asked me why don’t you contest for the Senate  and represent us at the Senate Building in Abuja. today I have accepted your call to contest for the Senate.

"I am therefore convinced that this is the time to proceed to the next step of the conversation which is about who lead the great people of  Adamawa North in the senate by 2027

“After all consultations, because you must be convinced that you can do it and improve on it. These times that people have been asking me, I have also been examining myself because I do not want to go to the senate and sit down, listen to motions and collect salary at the end of the month.”

Mr Ardo  urged the Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri  to defect from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in what he  described as a “strategic alignment” with President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the benefit of the State and Adamawa North Senatorial constituency

According to Mr Ardo,  aligning with the centre of power would give  Adamawa State greater access to federal projects and socio-economic development.

Mr Ardo  said .he  had reached a unanimous position after extensive consultations within and outside  Adamawa State.

"For us to achieve the best for Adamawa State , it is good for our Governor  to align very well with the party that can help deliver the dividends of democracy.

" I felt that Governor Fintiri teaming up with the APC, given the generosity of President Tinubu towards Adamawa State —doing what has never happened before—is the right step forward,” Ardo  said.

Mr Ardo also praised the transformation currently underway in Adamawa under Governor Fintiri's leadership, describing it as both visible and impactful.

However, analysts say the call for Governor Fintiri Join the APC from the  Tinubu Reelection Project National Secretary reflect the reality of Adamawa PDP structure in Adamawa State, especially following the defection of some of its top members to the All Progressives Congress (APC)  ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
