President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Reuben Abati, journalist and former presidential adviser, on his 60th birthday.

Tinubu described Abati as a public intellectual who has distinguished himself in journalism, academia and public service.

In a statement on Friday, the president said Abati has excelled as a writer, columnist, broadcaster and media executive.

He noted that Abati served the country as special adviser on media and publicity to former President Goodluck Jonathan

“His insightful articles, regular interventions and television analyses have continued to enlighten and inspire,” Tinubu said.

The president also praised Abati’s contributions to national discourse, saying his “creativity, versatility and cross-sectoral experience” remain evident in his work.

Tinubu congratulated Abati on the launch of three new books to commemorate his birthday.

The books are titled ‘Portraits: People, Politics and Society’, ‘A Love Letter and Other Stories’, and ‘How Goodluck Jonathan Became President’.

He joined the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), family and friends in celebrating Abati.

Tinubu prayed for God to grant the journalist “longer life, good health and continued inspiration”.
