Tinubu’s Plan to Empower 1,500 Nigerians per Ward Is Historic – Uba Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s plan to empower at least 1,500 people across Nigeria’s 8,809 wards, describing it as “unprecedented in the country’s history.”

Sani made the remarks on Monday during the commissioning of 100 free houses for widows under the Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) social housing project in Rigachukun, Igabi Local Government Area.

He emphasised that the president’s ward development plan would consider the unique needs of each community. According to the governor, his administration intends to convene town hall meetings with elected officials and stakeholders to identify local priorities across the state.

“The family homes fund social housing project aligns with our administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing for Kaduna citizens,” Sani said.
“Access to safe, affordable and secure housing is the foundation of human dignity. We have been partnering with local and international investors to frontally address our housing deficit.

“We recently distributed houses to families of victims of banditry under the Qatar Sannabil Project, a collaborative initiative between the Kaduna State Government and Qatar Charity.

“We have also flagged off the construction of the 3319-hectare Nuru Suraj Ungwar Dosa new extension layout and Urban Shelter’s 200-hectare housing project in Millennium City, Kaduna.”

The governor added that Kaduna’s “conducive atmosphere and attractive incentives” have attracted housing projects from several federal agencies, including the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

“We recently organised a hugely successful international housing exhibition which offered a unique platform for stakeholders to discuss and share housing development initiatives, explore emerging technologies, and proffer practical solutions to Northern Nigeria’s housing challenges,” he said.

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
