2027: BAT Vanguard Endorses Tinubu, Reaffirms Commitment To Renewed Hope Agenda
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Vanguard has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his administration’s performance, bold reforms, and commitment to national transformation.
The endorsement was announced at the BAT Vanguard End-of-Year Party and Special Recognition Awards ceremony held in Abuja on Sunday, themed “Standing Firm for Renewed Hope: The BAT Vanguard Mandate.”
Speaking at the event, the Convener of BAT Vanguard and Chairman of the Management Board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Hon. Sola Olofin, described the gathering as more than a celebration, saying it was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Olofin said BAT Vanguard had, since its inception, remained a disciplined and structured political movement that played a key role in President Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 general elections through grassroots mobilisation across wards, local governments, states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is no longer a promise; it is a living testament to reform that is steadily repositioning Nigeria,” he said.
He praised President Tinubu for demonstrating courage and clarity in leadership, particularly through difficult but necessary reforms aimed at resetting the economy and securing Nigeria’s future. According to him, fiscal reforms, subsidy rationalisation, monetary stabilisation, infrastructure expansion, and redesigned social investment programmes have begun to yield visible results.
Olofin also commended improvements in national security, noting enhanced coordination and intelligence-driven operations across affected regions.
“On behalf of BAT Vanguard nationwide, we thank Mr President for his courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to building a Nigeria that works for all,” he said.
Declaring the organisation’s position ahead of the next general election, Olofin said BAT Vanguard was unequivocal in its support for President Tinubu’s re-election.
“BAT Vanguard hereby formally endorses President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027. This endorsement is grounded in performance, capacity, vision, and proven leadership. Continuity is essential for consolidating the ongoing reforms,” he stated.
He disclosed that the group plans to mobilise at least 10 million votes for the President in 2027, adding that structures were already being strengthened nationwide to achieve the target.
Looking ahead, Olofin said BAT Vanguard was repositioning itself as a governance-support institution, announcing plans to embark on structured monitoring and evaluation engagements with key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to support effective service delivery and accountability.
He further revealed that beginning in 2026, the group would roll out a national social investment initiative aimed at supporting no fewer than 50,000 vulnerable households with food items, school materials, and basic welfare assistance.
“Politics must touch lives. Government support must be felt by ordinary Nigerians in practical ways,” he added.
On a personal note, Olofin thanked President Tinubu for appointing him Chairman of the NSITF Management Board, assuring that reforms, digital transformation, and improved governance were underway to strengthen Nigeria’s social security framework in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr O’Diakpo Obire spoke on “The Role of BAT Vanguard in Deepening Democracy and Advancing President Tinubu’s Success.” He described the organisation as more than a political support group, but a citizen-driven democratic force bridging government policies and public understanding.
According to Obire, BAT Vanguard has strengthened democratic participation through town hall meetings, grassroots advocacy, youth engagement, and digital mobilisation across the 36 states and the FCT.
He noted that under Hon. Olofin’s leadership, the group has promoted political literacy, defended democratic institutions, amplified government programmes, and helped build a new generation of politically conscious Nigerians.
“This is how democracies are strengthened, not through slogans, but through sustained civic participation,” he said.
Highlighting the achievements of the Tinubu administration, Obire referenced economic restructuring, fiscal discipline, infrastructure renewal, foreign exchange reforms, power sector interventions, the Students’ Loan Fund, and targeted social programmes supporting vulnerable households.
As the country moves towards 2027, he stressed the need for BAT Vanguard to intensify grassroots engagement, counter misinformation, expand youth and women’s participation, and mobilise Nigerians around facts, achievements, and a shared national vision.
“The 2027 mandate is not just about politics; it is about completing a reform journey already reshaping Nigeria’s foundations,” he added.
Other speakers at the event included Dr. Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central); Prof. Bello Zaki Abubakar, former Acting Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria; the Chairman of the House Committee on Information; and a representative of the Minister of Information, Ibrahim Tukur, Senior Special Assistant on Media.
The speakers collectively commended BAT Vanguard for its role in strengthening democratic engagement and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The event concluded with the presentation of special recognition awards to outstanding members and a renewed pledge by BAT Vanguard to safeguard democracy and support President Tinubu’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
