2027: Ikoh Tackles Abaribe Over ‘Tinubu Would Lose’ Comment


…….Says President Has Performed Better Than Any Politician In History

 As remarks by Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe over President Bola Tinubu’s chances to be re-elected in 2027 continue to create ripples in the polity, a former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Hon. Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, has urged the Abia State lawmaker to be conversant with the programmes and achievements of the administration.

Querying whether Abaribe was speaking for himself or Nigerians residing in Abuja or Abia State, Ikoh described the Senator’s statement as “wrong, unfounded,” adding that “as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it behoves on Abaribe to be conversant with government programs and policies and particularly as it affects his own state and region.”

Ikoh said politicians must not bestride ignorance and hypocrisy but rather lean on truth and honesty. Not silent but spoken truth.

According to him, “no Past Government or President had ever given Abia State Such Financial Privileges. President Bola Tinubu and APC have performed creditably well to merit the votes of Nigeria’s electorate and will definitely be returned elected come 2027.”

On the impact of the government on Abia State, Ikoh who is also the Abia State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for President Tinubu, said “Until the inception of the APC led government of President Tinubu, Abia State had never had it so good compared to the days of Sen. Abaribe in the now crisis ridden People’s Democratic Party (PDP).”

In a statement on Wednesday, Ikoh maintained, “The question Abaribe should be asking himself in a clear conscience is, how the state and local government received more allocation under this present administration of the APC-led government of President Bola Tinubu? The answer does not require a lengthy response.”

The statement claimed that “President Bola Tinubu has made life better for Abia Civil servants and pensioners through Increased revenue allocation to Abia State.

“The road infrastructures, health care projects, and educational institutions are courtesy of President Tinubu’s financial concessions to Abia State and other states in the Federation.

“Sen. Abaribe erred in his failure to give credit to Bola Tinubu and the APC for the successes and projects development recorded in the State. This is quite unfair to President Tinubu.

“Pres. Tinubu conceded the position of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives to Abia State, and that singular goodwill has created a lot for Abia State in terms of Employment opportunities, appointments, development, infrastructures, with educational institutions attracted to the state.

“Abia State indigenes have substantially received over 14 Federal board appointments, military promotions, permanent secretary slots, etc.

“As the saying always goes, ‘to whom much is given, much is expected”

“President Tinubu’s largess is not limited to Abia State but to the entire South East region and Nationwide. We, as Abians and South East, owe him the gratitude of total support for his re-election and to make sure that APC sweeps the entire Abia State in the 2027 Presidential and general elections.

“Abaribe’s claims that Nigerians are suffering is a half-truth meant to mislead the public and distort the facts in issue. Truth spoken to power revealed that APC led government of President Bola Tinubu is sensitive to the feelings and economic discomfort that Nigerians are going through, and he has introduced measures and programs to alleviate the poverty and sufferings of Nigerians, which many people are ignorant of and fail to take advantage of.

“For those who may not know, the 36 State Governors and the FCT receive regular increased monthly allocation from the Federation account, and the purpose is for the state Governors to address the economic and infrastructure problems confronting the various states to bring about poverty alleviation and transformations at the grassroots.

In an effort to deploy the dividends of his transformative initiatives to Nigerians in their localities, for which most States have keyed into, particularly the states controlled by APC, ably led by the Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, who doubles as the Director General of Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

President Tinubu introduced a series of human capacity building policies, training and business development programs, skills acquisition and empowerment programs to Nigerians for their exploitation.”

The statement listed the administration’s achievements to include 3 MTT Initiative which is the 3 million Tech Talent program, National Skills Business Development Initiatives, Nigeria Youth Academy (NIYA) and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

Others are Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP), Women in Self-Empowerment Programs (WISE-P), Intervention & De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP), and Circular Economy Youth Empowerment Initiative (CEYEI).

Furthermore, the statement highlighted other programmes it said remain part of the administration’s efforts at changing the fate of citizens.

These are Transforming Nigerian Youths (TNY), Program, PalmPay Hustle Grant, and Open Minds – Young Voices (OMYV).

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on.
