President Tinubu appoints Aminu Bello Masari as North West Coordinator of Renewed Hope Initiative

Former Governor of Katsina State and Chairman of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, has been appointed the Zonal Renewed Hope Ambassador for the North West, emerging as one of the key figures expected to drive grassroots mobilisation and public engagement for the Tinubu Administration’s programmes across the region.

Masari’s appointment was formally announced as Renewed Hope Ambassador Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, unveiled the full list of Zonal and State Renewed Hope Ambassadors ahead of the Federal Government’s forthcoming Ward Development Programme.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently appointed Governor Uzodinma as the National Renewed Hope Ambassador, saddling him with the responsibility of coordinating national sensitisation on the administration’s policies, reforms, and achievements. The unveiling of the new Ambassadors marks a major step toward deepening public awareness and strengthening political structures across the country.

Masari, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and a respected elder statesman in northern politics, is expected to bring his extensive public service experience to the role. His leadership will be crucial to harmonising party structures, guiding political mobilisation, and amplifying government policies across the North West geopolitical zone.

Alongside Masari, Governor Uzodinma announced the following Zonal Ambassadors:
 • HE Alhaji Isa Yuguda – North East
 • HE Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura – North Central
 • Senator Smart Adeyemi – South West
 • Senator Pius Anyim Pius – South East
 • HE Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa – South South

In addition, Ambassadors were appointed for all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. For Katsina State, HE Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, former Deputy Governor, will serve as the State Renewed Hope Ambassador, working directly under Masari’s supervision.

The Ambassadors are tasked with promoting and coordinating the Tinubu Administration’s programmes, ensuring that citizens at the grassroots understand the government’s reforms and the long-term benefits they are designed to deliver. Their responsibilities, which they will execute in collaboration with APC leadership and serving governors, include:
 • Community and stakeholder engagement
 • Political and grassroots mobilisation
 • Mediation of internal party disputes
 • Strengthening party unity and alignment
 • Public sensitisation on government achievements since 2023

They are also expected to work closely with APC structures in their respective states to foster inclusiveness, cohesion, and strategic coordination.

During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Uzodinma urged the Ambassadors to commit themselves to enlightening Nigerians about the progress being recorded under President Tinubu. He stressed that their role is pivotal in ensuring that citizens remain informed about ongoing national reforms.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in May 2023 with a bold economic and institutional reform agenda aimed at stabilising the economy and setting the stage for sustained growth. Many of these reforms, Uzodinma noted, have begun to yield positive signs, reinforcing the need for a coordinated national communication structure.
