Tinubu Unveils Book In Honour Of Late Buhari’s Legacy
President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, unveiled a commemorative book titled ‘From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari’, paying tribute to the late former president.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the State House Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and was presided over by former Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.
Among those present were notable dignitaries, including state governors and members of Buhari’s family.
The multi-volume book traces Buhari’s remarkable journey — from his early years as a military officer and head of state between 1983 and 1985, to his tenure as Nigeria’s democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023.
Edited by Dr. Udu Yakubu, the collection features contributions such as a memoir by former presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina. The work underscores key themes of national unity, the fight against corruption, and infrastructure development, while also engaging with ongoing discussions about Buhari’s economic policies and security challenges.
Video footage shared by the Nigerian Television Authority on X showed President Tinubu, dressed in traditional attire, unveiling the book by removing a white cloth drape from a large portrait of Buhari, revealing the title.
Muhammadu Buhari passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 in a London clinic after a prolonged illness. His remains were brought back to Nigeria and laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in a state funeral attended by regional leaders.
