With APC’s overwhelming support, Tinubu’s 2027 victory done deal –Yilwatda
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has declared that with the wave of support the ruling party is getting across the country, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 general elections is a done deal.
He spoke Sunday in Abuja while hosting the leadership of Women Leaders Support Advancement – a political advocacy group promoting greater inclusion of women in governance.
Receiving the group, Yilwatda said: “Our party is fully prepared for the future, and by the grace of God, the APC will win convincingly in 2027.”
The party leader further said: “The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deliberately structured to address the concerns of women, youths, and all Nigerians who desire good governance and inclusive leadership.”
While calling on the Nigerian women to remain steadfast in supporting Tinubu’s administration, he said: “I want to appreciate your dedication and encourage you to remain consistent in taking the message of the APC to every community in Nigeria.
“Women remain the backbone of political mobilisation, and your role is critical to our success.”
Also speaking, Matron and Co-founder of the group, Dr Martina Yilwatda, said: “This platform must not only exist in name but must be felt in the homes, markets, and communities of our women.
“We must strengthen grassroots mobilisation, especially among women and youths, to deepen political participation and national development.”
In a similar remark, founder of the group, Deborah Hornecker, thanked the APC national chairman and his wife for their support.
“We sincerely appreciate the love and support shown to us by the APC chairman and his wife.
“We assure you that Women Leaders Support Advancement will mobilise women across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to support the APC and ensure victory for the party in 2027,” Hornecker said.
…Uzodimma calls for understanding of reforms
Also in a related development, the National Coordinator Renewed Hope Ambassadors and governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma, called on Nigerians for their understanding in the reforms of the Tinubu administration.
Addressing the South West Zone APC Stakeholders meeting as well as the 2-day meeting of the Progressive Governors Forum in Lagos, he said though the economic reforms may appear tough, but they were already yielding the desired results.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative was strategically aligned with these reforms, targeting grassroots empowerment by supporting at least 1,000 functional businesses in every ward.
He said this would not only accelerate job creation but also deepen financial inclusion and strengthen local enterprise development nationwide.
The governor called on party leaders and other stakeholders to remain focussed.
“We thank you for your resilience in admitting the difficulties from the reforms. A more united and prosperous Nigeria is what we need,” he said.
On the reason for the organisation, Uzodimma said it was created to strengthen civic engagement, deepen political awareness, and ensure that Nigerians at the community level understand, benefit from, and contribute to the government’s reforms.
He assured that the platform would “work closely with communities, youth groups, women, artisans, business owners, and traditional institutions to identify needs, support promising ventures, and channel government interventions more efficiently.”
The Ambassadors, he further said, would also “serve as a feedback mechanism, conveying citizens’ concerns, expectations, and suggestions directly to policymakers,” adding “this would help the government adjust and refine programmes to better serve Nigerians.”
While promising to justify and deliver on his mandate as the group’s national coordinator, he said the “National Renewed Hope Ambassadors would champion unity, progress, and accountability across the country.
While stating that the initiative was more than serving the purpose of political mobilisation, he also described it “as a long-term national development effort aimed at empowering people and strengthening economic stability from the bottom up.”
To ease its activities, the governor announced the creation of the group at the zonal, state, local government and wards to ensure “we have 1,000 active businesses in every Ward in Nigeria thus linking President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, RHEDP with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors mandate.”
