2027: APC leader pushes membership revalidation, endorses Tinubu, Oyebamiji
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Quassim Shittu (KOS), has called on Nigerians to actively engage in party affairs by participating in the ongoing APC e-registration and revalidation exercise, ahead of the January 30, 2026, deadline.
Shittu said formal party registration remains critical to democratic consolidation within the APC, urging both existing members and new entrants in Lagos state and across the country to take advantage of the exercise.
He particularly appealed to party members in Osun State, across its 30 local government areas and 332 wards, to embrace the process as a pathway to contributing meaningfully to internal party democracy and securing victory for the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the August 8 governorship election.

The APC stalwart also endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, calling on Nigerians to sustain support for the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda as well as the THEMES+ agenda of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Speaking at a forum on the e-registration exercise in Lagos on Sunday, Shittu stressed the importance of proper party documentation and voter participation.
“The APC e-registration and revalidation exercise is open to both existing members and new entrants. It is ongoing and will run through January 30, 2026.
“The aim is to generate a comprehensive and verifiable database of party members across the states to enhance mobilisation during elections,” he said.
He further underscored the importance of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC), describing it as essential for effective political participation.
“Political participation without voter registration defeats the purpose of party affiliation. If you are a member of the APC and you do not possess a PVC, you are not with us. We want members who are qualified and ready to participate in the electoral process,” Shittu said.
He urged party members to collect their PVCs ahead of the Osun governorship election and the 2027 general elections.
Shittu also called for collective responsibility in tackling the country’s security challenges, urging Nigerians to support the efforts of President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu in safeguarding lives and property.
“This is our country, and we do not have another one. Security is a collective responsibility. Everyone must support the president and the governor to ensure the safety of lives and property,” he said.
