2027: Nobody can stop Tinubu, APC candidates – Zamfara elder

Chairman Northern Elder Progressive Association, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, has chided Zamfara state government over accusations against the minister of state for defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, stating that the government is jittery over the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Matawalle’s growing popularity in the state.

Dingyadi who is also a political associate of the minister and  a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC stated this in an interview with newsmen in Sokoto.

They were reacting to a statement allegedly from the Zamfara state government that the minister of defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle is using the Office National Security Adviser to  president to intimidate opposition figures in the state

Dingyadi described the allegation as a baseless, lacking merit, politically motivated and a ranting of drowning government

He emphasized that the people of Zamfara state are determined to cast their votes to the President Tinubu and all the APC  candidates come 2027 elections as way of thanking the president for his efforts to tackle insecurity in Zamfara state and North-west geopolitical zone

“Zamfara state government is jittery over the minister’s growing popularity in the state courtesy of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu impressive performances and renewed commitment to end insecurity in Zamfara and Northwest geopolitical zone as whole.

“The claims by Zamfara state government that Bello Matawalle is using the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to intimidate opposition members were part of a long standing campaign of calumny aimed at tarnishing the minister’s image.”

“This is not the first time the Zamfara State Government has desperately tried to link the former governor to unfounded issues just to rubbish and destroy his reputation,” he said.

According to him, similar attempts were made during Matawalle’s ministerial nomination, when petitions were allegedly written to security agencies and sponsored protests organised in parts of Kogi, Niger and Nasarawa states  to discredit him.

Yusuf said it was politically naive to accuse Matawalle or the NSA of intimidation, stressing that the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) were constitutional bodies empowered to investigate, arrest and detain individuals considered threats to national security, especially with issues that matters about cybercrime and terrorism. 

“If security agencies carry out their lawful duties, there is no justification for pointing accusing fingers at the NSA or involving the Minister of State for Defence,” he said.

He accused the Zamfara  state government of hypocrisy, recalling alleged incidents in which individuals, include some high ranking political appointees were bundled or arrested and detained shortly in Gusau after the current administration assumed office in the state.

“The same people making these allegations today were involved in bundling and detaining individuals from Abuja, including a former principal private secretary, and holding him in Gusau,” He  claimed.

Tinubu grants automatic employment to children of late FCT Head of ServiceGrace Adayilo

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on.
