2027: Northern group raises N200m for Tinubu’s re-election

Ahead next general elections, a forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful from the Northern part of the country has pledged a donation of N200m for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to purchase Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

Checks revealed that the ruling party has yet to fix a date for the conduct of its presidential convention.

At an event held in Abuja at the Tinubu Support Group office, the Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum declared that the achievements of President Tinubu in all sectors were impressive and he should be given a fresh mandate to consolidate on them.

In a Communique signed by Alhaji Murtala Mohammed Garba and Dr Agbana John, National Leader and Director of Operations, respectively, the Forum resolved to “formally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office, in the interest of policy continuity, reform consolidation, and long-term national development.”

Garba, who presented a dummy cheque to the Director General of TSG, Dr Tanko Yakassai, said the NNYLF, with support from the 19 states in the North, would make the money available to President Tinubu when the APC formally make pronouncement on its presidential convention.

He maintained that the South should be allowed to have an uninterrupted 8 years after the eight years of the immediate past President, late Muhammadu Buhari, from the North-west.

Garba said:” When they decide to sell the form, we are coming out to purchase the form for Mr President for his second term because we believe in the unity of Nigeria.

“We believe in the agreement between the late President Buhari and Baba Ahmed Tinubu. Southern Nigeria should finish their eight years, then the northern Nigeria will come in.

“Just as the Director-General has said, we, the northern Nigeria Youth, believe you can see all people that have come here, we have all the leaders, both Muslims and across the 19 northern states, are here.

“Our grand patron, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, even said we should invite the south – the south-east, south-west and south-south, all are here for us to say that yes, we are with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we believe in what he is doing in terms of security, agriculture, infrastructure. I have been to Sokoto, and we have seen what he is doing from Sokoto to Badagry. We have seen what he is doing from Bauchi down to Taraba, Benue, Kaduna Road, and Kano.

“That is what inspired us to come out and support this solidarity, and you can see we have invited the grandson of Tafawa Balewa, the first and only Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Without their support, this thing would not have happened. You know this is not just something of one man. The faces you see are not hired crowd. We are realists, and we believe Tinubu will have the highest number of votes in northern Nigeria. “

In his remarks, the Director General of Tinubu Support Group, Dr Tanko Yakassai, who received the N200m dummy cheque from the National Leader of NNYLF, also declared that the North should reward the south which supported the late Muhammadu Buhari, to enjoy a seamless eight-year mandate.

“We welcome all support groups that have identified with TSG and are channelling their resources to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term. And most important is the commitment by our northern young persons that the north, when it gives its word, must respect their word.

“Our word is our bond. And if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has supported a northern candidate, late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, after attempting for three good terms, 2003, 2007, 2011, he couldn’t win and with the support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he won and supported him to complete his eight years, and Northern Nigeria was happy because in 2019 I didn’t see any credible person who challenged President Muhammadu Buhari from south, I believe that the south has supported the north for eight good years.

“It is the turn of the north to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the south to complete their eight years of administration before you consider any interest.”

Tinubu grants automatic employment to children of late FCT Head of ServiceGrace Adayilo

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on.
