APC SETS UP HIGH-LEVEL COMMITTEE TO TACKLE PARTY CONFLICTS AND MOBLILISE MEMBERS
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation Committee held its inaugural meeting on Monday to outline approaches for resolving existing disputes and addressing potential threats to the party’s cohesion.
The committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor, H.E Mai Mala Buni, CON. Its members include Governors Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta). Additional members are Senator Adamu Aliero, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, and Muiz Banire (SAN), who serves as Secretary.
At the committee’s inauguration in December, Governor Buni said the group will employ strategic engagement and extensive consultations to develop comprehensive and lasting solutions.
He noted that the goal is to give both longstanding and new members, including aggrieved parties, a sense of belonging and inclusion, and fostering renewed hope within the party.
“The committee will consider proactive measures and solutions to potential threats in our conflict resolution approach,” Buni said.
He urged members not to allow personal interests or sentiments to override the broader objectives for which the committee was established.
