Ifeanyi Okowa, former governor of Delta, has asked members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to rally behind President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Okowa made the call on Monday at the Ika federal constituency leaders and stakeholders’ meeting held in Agbor, Ika LGA of Delta state.
The meeting was convened to brief party members on the ongoing APC electronic membership registration exercise.
Also present at the meeting was Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the APC.
Speaking at the event, Okowa said the calibre and number of party leaders in attendance should dispel any political anxiety within the constituency.
“If we resolve, collectively and immediately, to work together, we can command political dominance across all 26 wards of the Ika federal constituency,” he said.
Okowa said Ika south and Ika north east LGAs had consistently delivered strong electoral results.
“Delta state is a model,” he said.
“Our governor was the first to align openly and decisively with Mr President, and because of that, the eyes of the nation are upon us.
“The results from Delta will speak loudly across Nigeria.”
Okowa cautioned party members against internal divisions, saying disunity weakens the party and undermines electoral success.
He said victory in 2027 would depend on unity, discipline and collective execution across all levels of the party.
Morka, who convened the meeting, announced that January 31 had been fixed as the deadline for the ongoing electronic registration exercise.
Morka warned that members who fail to register would be excluded from party recognition and participation in forthcoming ward, local government, state and national congresses.
“You cannot vote. You cannot be voted for. This process is simple, guided, and urgent,” he said.
“That is why our state treasurer, who also serves as the state coordinator of this programme, is here today to provide direction.”
He said the planned congresses would usher in new party leadership at all levels, stressing that registration was the gateway to participation.
“As leaders, we must return to our villages and wards with a singular mission to mobilise, register, and strengthen the APC from the grassroots up,” he said.
“This is not a time for petty divisions, unnecessary suspicion, or internal anxiety.”
Morka said the APC is determined to carry the Renewed Hope message to every corner of the country.
