Tinubu building new Nigeria with road projects — Senator Adeola

The Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, has said President Bola Tinubu’s administration is creating a new Nigeria with the construction of Lagos-Calabar and Sokoto-Badagry highways.

Adeola said this while speaking with newsmen at the sidelines of his annual thanksgiving service held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Ilaro, that the infrastructural renewal of the present administration would contribute in no small measure to the nation’s economic growth.

He disclosed that the Lagos-Calabar highway cuts across 10 to 15 states, while the Sokoto-Badagry road houses 66 dams.

Adeola, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, said that the federal government under President Tinubu had removed cankerworm in the country’s economy.

He said, “The president is working around the clock to ensure that we have a secure Nigeria, a prosperous Nigeria, a Nigeria that is for us, a Nigeria that we are proud of.

“He is doing everything within his power to ensure.

“I am a living testimony to what the president has turned Nigeria into. I am a living testimony to what the president has done.

“Within his two years of assumption of office, he succeeded in removing the cankerworm in our economy that has affected out finances over the years, that is the fuel subsidy that has benefited very few Nigerians at the detriment of the overall population of this nation.

“With that singular action, the President is saving the country over N10 trillion on annual basis.

“I used to be the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance during the last Senate and I know on a yearly basis , when we go to bank to borrow to fund the subsidy is in the region of N6 trillion to N7 trillion on an annual basis.

“A lot of infrastructural renewal is currently going on across the country. The president is creating a new Nigeria. The Lagos-Calabar expressway will cut across 10 or 15 states and that is a new Nigeria being born.

“Also the Sokoto-Badagry way, a popular road which we are also a beneficiary . Along that road alone, we have a total of 66 dams. When that road is fully completed, the president has also succeeded in creating a new Nigeria and a new economy for our country as a result of these 66 dams across the highway.”

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
