APC urges elected chairmen to deliver Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged newly elected Area Council chairmen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to prioritise the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, following the party’s victory in five of the six councils.

Speaking at the APC Situation Room in Abuja, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the FCT Campaign Council, said the poll outcome reflected residents’ endorsement of the President’s policies and infrastructural drive in the FCT.

He praised President Tinubu for his decisive leadership and clear direction, noting that the administration’s reforms and visible projects were instrumental to the party’s success.

“The people of Abuja have embraced the President’s policies and turned out to vote for our party. The responsibility now lies with the elected chairmen to hit the ground running,” AbdulRazaq said.

He emphasised that responsiveness to grassroots needs and faithful implementation of party programmes would be critical, particularly in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), where voter turnout was notably high.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Secretary of the Campaign Council, Benjamin Kalu, said the Renewed Hope Agenda became a strong campaign tool because its impact was already visible across the FCT.

“People could see what we were preaching. That made our engagement easier,” he said, urging chairmen-elect to translate policy promises into measurable development outcomes that would deepen public confidence in governance.

Also speaking, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the FCT result as a validation of the party’s grassroots mobilisation and governance record.
He commended party members, campaign officials, security agencies, and INEC for ensuring a credible process, and called on elected officials to maintain cordial relationships with councillors to fast-track projects and make the Renewed Hope Agenda visible at the grassroots.

“With effective implementation at the councils, the projects you execute will become our campaign signposts in the future,” Yilwatda added.

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
