Group praises Tinubu’s economic policies
Mr Abang, also the executive director of finance for the South-South Development Commission, urged Nigerians to be more patient with the current administration.
Soni Abang, the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Cross River, has described President Bola Tinubu’s economic decisions as ‘purposeful and well-intended’
Mr Abang said this in Calabar on Wednesday while meeting with the local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Mr Abang, also the executive director of finance for the South-South Development Commission, urged Nigerians to be more patient with the current administration.
He said that already the ‘well-thought-out’ economic decisions of the Tinubu-led government were yielding results.
“Some international organisations have already started attesting that the economy is picking up and that the country is making progress. President Tinubu is making decisions that will put the country on the path of sustainable progress,” he said.
The coordinator said that the remarkable reduction in the price of foodstuffs was a sign that the president meant well for Nigerians.
Mr Abang said that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Cross River would take deliberate steps to explain the president’s achievements to the people.
“The president is doing a lot of things well; it is our duty to sensitise Nigerians to these good intentions,” he said.
He further commended Governor Bassey Otu for being deliberate about good governance and the well-being of Cross River people.
“The governor inherited huge foreign and local debts. He inherited unpaid pensions, among others. As we speak, the governor has paid half of the local debts; he is offsetting the foreign debts too. Pensions and gratuities are also being paid,” he said.
Emmanuel Ironbar, the chief of staff to the governor, expressed confidence in the ability of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to propagate the message of Mr Tinubu’s good deeds to the people.
