Tinubu support group takes NIN registration to Plateau grassroots

In a bid to deepen civic inclusion and strengthen participation in national documentation, a pro-President Bola Tinubu support group has launched a grassroots National Identification Number (NIN) registration drive across Plateau State.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Tinubu or Nothing 2027 movement, was formally unveiled at a high-profile event in Jos over the weekend, where 40 NIN registration devices were presented for deployment.

Organisers also introduced 120 trained enumerators expected to cover the State’s three Senatorial Districts to commence community-level enrolment.

Addressing stakeholders at the launch, Lapshak Goshwe, the Global Convener of the group, described the exercise as more than a political activity, saying it is aimed at fostering inclusion, empowerment and democratic engagement among citizens.

He noted that bringing NIN services closer to communities would ensure more residents are officially recognised.

“Our aim is to enable every Plateau resident, especially youths and underserved populations, to be counted, recognised and positioned to contribute meaningfully to national development,” Goshwe said, adding that the initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of inclusive governance.

Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC National Chairman, represented by Jibril Banchir, said the initiative would help strengthen a credible national database and urged party members and residents to support the registration drive.

He stressed that NIN registration remains free and assured that no individual would be exploited in the process.

The Plateau State Government, represented by Musa Ashoms, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, welcomed the programme, noting that civic responsibility should not be left to government alone.

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo.
