Yari: Tinubu’s economic reforms model for Africa

Abdulaziz Yari, senator representing Zamfara west, says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are a model for Africa.

Speaking on Saturday after he was honoured with a distinguished award in leadership and services by the All African Students Union (AASU) in Accra, Ghana, Yari said the president is leading the country to prosperity.

The former Zamfara state governor urged African leaders to work together in the interest of the continent.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria is doing well and leading the country to prosperity,” he said.

“I believe that with leaders like Tinubu, Africa is indeed blessed.”

Yari, who is the senate committee chairman on water resources, advised African leaders to emulate Tinubu’s economic reform policies and the fight against terrorism.

The organisers said the award recognised Yari’s “achievements as Zamfara governor, former chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and a serving senator”.

AASU said Yari was being celebrated across Africa for “contributions to humanitarian service, political development, and infrastructure as foundations for leadership and mentorship”.

Other recipients included John Dramani Mahama, Muhammad Ibn Chambers, secretary general of the Pan African Women Organisation, Grace Majoro Kabayo, managing director of Rokel Commercial Bank, and Walton E. Gilpin.

Yari, who was represented by Garba Mohammed Gololo, thanked the union for the honour accorded to him and Nigerians.

He said his life is dedicated to service to humanity, adding that service to people must always be above self.
