2026 APC National Convention: What Tinubu told members
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged members of the All Progressives Congress to maintain unity, discipline, and a focus on national development during the party’s 4th Elective National Convention held Friday at Eagles Square.
In his address, Tinubu described the convention as a defining moment to strengthen internal democracy, consolidate the party’s vision, and reaffirm commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He warned that the party’s greatest threat is internal division and the pursuit of individual interests over the collective good.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements, the president noted progress in infrastructure, social investment programmes, fiscal reforms, and national security.
He pointed to steady economic growth, declining inflation, rising investor confidence, and a booming stock market, while acknowledging challenges in electricity supply and transmission that the government aims to resolve through initiatives such as the Grid Asset Management Company (GAMCO).
Tinubu also called on young people and women to play active roles in governance and party leadership, describing them as essential to the country’s future.
He reiterated that APC welcomes healthy opposition and thrives on democratic competition.
He praised the Convention Planning Committee, party governors, ministers, and delegates for ensuring the smooth running of the event.
Tinubu urged all elected officials to lead with integrity, vision, and commitment to APC’s ideals, emphasising the need to sustain the party’s growth through credible leadership and transparent management.
