Christians must help build Nigeria’s future under Tinubu – First Lady

As the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu works to rebuild Nigeria’s foundation for future generations Nigerians, people of faith have been urged to play their part and support the good cause.

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu stated this when she received in audience, the Global Executive Chairman of Lausanne Movement, Dr Michael Oh and his team in her office.

The First Lady emphasised the need for Christians and to always live ready for the coming of Christ and be the light of the world.

“We as Christian leaders and followers should be watchmen, living our lives in readiness of the coming of Christ and we the church teaching younger generations virtues”.

“The President is focused on laying a strong foundation for the country, and when the foundation is strong, those coming after will only need to build on it. This is just like what we met when he was Governor of Lagos State and the story is different today in the State. This task will be much easier with more religious understanding”. The First Lady was quoted as saying in a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi

According to the Global Executive Chairman of the Movement Dr Micheal Oh, which was established in 1974 by renowned Evangelist Billy Graham, the Lausanne Movement is a global evangelical initiative that seeks to unite Christians for world evangelization.

“There is only 1% of us Christians in the world who are evangelists, preachers but the real gospel will be preached by the remaining 99% in the marketplace, in politics, in homes by our way of life and conduct. We see you, your Excellency already doing that”.

Dr Micheal Oh commended the First Lady, who he described as the Esther of her generation, for providing meaningful leadership.

“Christians should lead with humility, service and love”.

“Africa is the future of global evangelism and indeed, next leader of global Christianity”.

The visit was rounded off with prayers for the First Lady and for peace in Nigeria.

Tinubu grants automatic employment to children of late FCT Head of ServiceGrace Adayilo

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr Grace Adayilo who recently passed on. FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this on Saturday during the funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, where top government officials, civil servants, family and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the late Adayilo. He described her death as a painful loss, noting that she was a committed, humble and diligent public servant whose contributions to the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA would be deeply missed. “On behalf of the FCT Administration and on behalf of Mr President, I want to send our condolences to her family.
