Wike most qualified to lead Tinubu’s 2027 campaign – APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Princewill Dike, has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as Director-General of his 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Dike, a Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, said on Monday that Wike possesses the political experience and network required to drive a successful reelection campaign for the President.

According to him, Wike demonstrated strong political capacity during his tenure as governor of Rivers State, describing him as a strategist capable of delivering electoral victories.

“I have consistently maintained that if Wike becomes the Director-General of President Tinubu’s reelection campaign, his opponents will face a formidable challenge,” Dike said.

He cited Wike’s extensive political network across the country, his ability to mobilise resources, and his reputation for hands-on campaigning as key strengths. He also claimed that Wike has the capacity to fund and manage campaign activities effectively.

Dike further argued that Wike’s track record in elections, including his influence in Rivers State politics and his role in previous electoral outcomes, underscores his suitability for the role.

“He knows the right political players and has the energy to crisscross the country to achieve results,” he added.

The APC chieftain expressed confidence that appointing Wike as PCC Director-General would strengthen the President’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
