I’m Not Interested In Imposing Candidates – Tinubu

‎President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that he is not interested in imposing candidates in any locality of the country for the 2027 general election.

‎Tinubu spoke at a home- coming ceremony organised by the people of Umunneochi local government area for the former minister of state for Labour and Productivity, Nkeiruka Onyejiocha in Isuochi.

Represented by the national welfare officer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Donatus Nwankpa, the president urged the people to support and encourage the former minister in her future endeavours

‎Honoured with a chieftaincy title of Ike Oha 1 of Umunneochi by Umunneochi Traditional Rulers Advisory Council at the event, the president thanked Onyejiocha for bringing peace and tranquility in the ministry.

‎In her address, Onyejiocha expressed the people’s gratitude to the president for projects his administration had embarked in the area which include erosion control and the prevailing peace and security.

‎Her words: “I thank you for my appointment and for all the opportunities you gave me to do my work without interference. And that was what brought peace in the sector while I was presiding.

‎Onyejiocha, who was also honoured with a chieftaincy title of Anyanwu Nenye Ihe of the area assured the president that the area would contribute its quota to the number that would return him in 2027.

‎Speaking on her future political ambition, the former 4-term member of the House of Representatives for Umunneochi/Isuikwuato federal constituency promised to make it public as soon as necessary.

In his remark, the state APC chairman, Chijioke Chukwu said they came to honour and celebrate Onyejiocha as one of Igbo leaders and politicians that had never disappointed the people and the country.

‎Speaking earlier, the chairman of the occasion and national president, Isuochi Indigenous Ministers Association, Monday Enwere, noted that the former legislator had excell in all capacities.

‎He, therefore, assured her of the people’s commitment to supporting her future political ambitions just as they would want her to consider returning to the Green Chambers in 2027.
